Overview
Waimushan is Keelung's longest natural coastline on the west side, with a seaside trail and rocky rock-fishing spots. It offers open views and is a popular shore-fishing and diving area. Coastal rock fishing is high-risk; check with the authority whether it is a restricted zone and whether fishing is allowed.
Terrain & depth
Mostly rocky coast and intertidal zone with steep drops and noticeable swell; some sections require scrambling down to the rocks.
Recommended tide/season
Assess tide and wave height together; low tide is safer. The winter NE monsoon has a strong effect—do not go in poor conditions.
Parking & access
Reached from central Keelung via Xiehe Street / the Waimushan seaside trail; roadside parking is limited and some spots require a walk down.
