Overview
Cijin is a long, narrow sandbar island off Kaohsiung, reached by ferry or the cross-harbor tunnel, with a beach, windmill park and coastal trail—a popular sightseeing and shore-fishing area. This open coast carries high wave and rip-current risk; check with the authority on whether and where fishing is allowed.

Mostly sandy shore with some tetrapods and seawalls, near the harbor channel, with noticeable swell on the open sea.
Recommended tide/season
Bites are better around high tide and at dawn/dusk; do not go during summer typhoons or strong southwest flows with big waves.

Enter Cijin by ferry from Gushan or via the cross-harbor tunnel; the island has parking and public bikes.
